Resident Camp Multimedia Coordinator - Camp Cullen

Position Summary:

Supervises multimedia staff (Photographers and Videographers) to ensure quality of photos and videos. Will upload quality photos of camp participants to Waldo once per day ensuring uploads are timely and pictures of the day are uploaded the same day. Will oversee videos and video editing in preparation for video to be shared at closing ceremonies each week. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on youth development including the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.

Essential Functions:

Organize and plan efficient strategy to maximize the amount of photos taken every week, Sunday-Friday.

Maintain quality of photography.

Work with other members of the media team and administrative staff team to ensure there is always someone photographing staff and campers.

Throughout the week, this individual will upload pictures taken each day at the end of every day.

Photos must be uploaded once a day minimum.

Pictures must viewed before posting to ensure quality and appropriateness.

Will be assigned a camper cabin and reside in cabin to ensure camper safety.

This position will step in to help supervise children when needed.

Organize and plan efficient strategies to maximize quality and duration of videos taken at camp of campers and staff.

Oversee video editing process to ensure quality, timeliness and uploading of the video at the end of the week.

Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.

At least 18 years of age.

Previous experience working within the Camp Cullen resident camp preferred.

Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: Cabin/village life within a resident camp setting, administration, phone etiquette

Relevant activity certifications: CPRPro, First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen, and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.

Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.

Prefer 1 year of filming and editing experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read, interpret, retain, and teach documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure/educational manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of children, parents, staff, members of the YMCA, and/or others, as well as in one-on-one situations.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense, understanding, and sound mature judgment to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, including assisting with curriculum learning. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. Nonsmoking and drug and alcohol free work environment. Employees are regularly exposed to bodily excretions from children, depending on developmental level of children in the employee's care.

The job is located on Lake Livingston at YMCA Camp Cullen in Trinity, TX for a YMCA Resident Camp Program.
