  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time Clinician position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Maine state licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Masters Social Worker - Clinical Conditional (LMSW-CC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC),Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor - Conditional license(LCPC-C) is required

Position Summary

The Clinician works on a multidisciplinary team to manage complex clients with substance use disorders at the Addiction Resource Center. The role involves clinical assessment of clients with substance use and mental health conditions, individual therapeutic interventions, and group therapy facilitation.

The Clinician has comprehensive clinical responsibility for the clients assigned. These clinical duties shall be directed toward the achievement of excellence in client care and will include: conducting and documenting individual and family psychosocial assessments; documenting the findings of evaluations and progress in clients' medical record; conducting and documenting family and/or couples treatment of clients and their families; maintaining contact with community resources for after care and providing comprehensive discharge planning services. All services will be provided in a manner and language appropriate to the age and comprehensive level of the clients and their families. All Clinicians are expected to function as active members of their teams. Clinician has been with the organization for at least two years and has demonstrated by way of additional activities a commitment to the organization and its stakeholders.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Addictions Treatment, or related field required. Master's Degree preferred.

2. License/Certifications: Conditional Licensure in Social Work or Counseling (LMSW-cc, LCPC-cc) required.

3. Experience: One year of previous experience in counseling adolescents and adults dealing with substance use-related and mental health issues required. Two years of prior sobriety if in recovery at time of hire. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of an OPBH Clinician I role.
