Howmet Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, rings, disks and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts that enable the next generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation. Howmet Dover Casting is a world-class supplier of complex, investment-cast turbine airfoils and other components for the aircraft engine and industrial gas turbine industries. Howmet Dover Alloy is a world-class supplier of vacuum and air-melted nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys to aerospace, gas turbine, medical and other high-technology industrial markets.

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Core Leacher to join our Howmet Casting located in Dover, New Jersey. The work hours for this Midnight Shift position are Sunday Night - Thursday Night 10P - 6:30A, Training is on 1st shift 6AM-2:30PM

New Hire Starting Hourly Rate: $23.34; After 12 Months: $25.86

Position will receive an hourly "shift premium" while assigned to an off-shift

Job Summary

This position removes ceramic cores and quartz tubes from the castings.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Expected to assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principals.
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report all job related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
  • Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EHS training.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Removes ceramic cores and quartz tubes from castings using caustic solutions, heated and pressurized to predetermined specifications.
  • Processes castings for subsequent inspection by the use of acids or other chemical solutions in accordance with predetermined specifications.
  • Mixes, neutralizes, cleans, and refills vessels containing acid or caustic solutions.
  • Maintains own production and other records as required.
  • Maintains work area in a neat, clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Follows all applicable safety rules. Works in a safe manner at all times.
  • Performs other duties as might be assigned by supervision.
  • Performs all post core removal cleaning operations, i.e.; performs waterhone, acid rinse, oven dry, barascope etc.
  • Using crane loads and unloads castings into baskets for core removal process to specific instructions.
  • Load leaching autoclave by operating mobile equipment
  • Operate and maintain leach autoclaves and related equipment
  • Maintains identity of castings through all operations.
  • Performs process check on caustic solutions
  • Position involves working in pairs and hence the weight limits listed are calculated accordingly

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Must be able to run Robotic Equipment, crane, mobile equipment after training
  • Must pass required exams to operate equipment
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and be clean shaven.
  • Read, interpret, and communicate instructions.
  • Operate multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates residing within 50 miles radius of Dover NJ will only be considered.
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to work inside in hot/cold environment depending on the weather.
