  • Stark State College is seeking a qualified adjunct Economics Instructor for the College Credit Plus (CCP) program.
  • Stark State College is a two-year associate degree college within the University System of Ohio and is one of the fastest growing two-year colleges in the state as well as in the nation. This position reports directly to the Department Chair of Management & Marketing. The incumbent must be enthusiastic about delivering high quality instructions to our students (including exploring new and innovating ways to deliver the instructions) and participating in committee assignments within our department, division and college. The incumbent is also expected to remain current in their field of expertise. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparing and delivering day and evening courses (including satellite locations) ; facilitating courses which include developing and maintaining syllabi, preparing unit tests and final examinations, developing assignments and projects, assessing the success and objectives of the course. Work with full-time faculty members for the purpose of providing consistency and high academic standards.
This position requires face-to-face instruction, teaching high school students Economics in a classroom setting within the Steubenville Local School District. This adjunct position is limited to this location.


  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparing and delivering day, online and evening courses (including satellite locations); facilitating courses which include developing and maintaining syllabi, preparing unit tests and final examinations, developing assignments and projects, assessing the success and objectives of the course, and coordinating with full-time faculty members and adjuncts for the purpose of providing consistency and high academic standards.


Qualifications:

  • Master's in Business Administration (MBA) is required.
  • ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs) accreditation preferred.
  • Must have face-to-face daytime availability in the Steubenville Local School District.
  • Must have experience with Blackboard or Brightspace online learning platforms.
  • Must have economics teaching experience
  • Ability to create an engaging and interactive learning environment for high school students enrolled in the CCP program.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.


The incumbent must be able to develop and implement innovative approaches to the learning environment including instructions of college courses; possess excellent organizational; communications and interpersonal skills; function effectively and productively in team-based initiatives; use technology including all MS Office programs, Blackboard and Internet-delivered materials.
