Janitorial Crew Chief Brophy College Preparatory seeks to hire an experienced professional to join Brophy's janitorial staff. The members of Brophy's janitorial staff maintain a visible and active presence on campus before, during, and after school as well as during major student activities, games, and school events. This individual will report to Brophy's Director of Facilities and Food Services, and will have approximately 10 direct reports. Job Title: Janitorial Crew Chief Department Name: Facilities Position Reports To: Director of Facilities and Food Services Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt Job Status: Full Time, 12 Month Schedule Hours: M/W/F: 3pm-11pm; T/TH: 9am-5pm; Variety of nights and weekends as needed for events. Hourly Rate Range: Dependent upon experience, ranges from $21-$22/hour Primary Purpose/Job Summary The Janitorial Crew Chief will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the janitorial day and evening staff across multiple locations all near Central and Camelback in midtown Phoenix. This role is crucial to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all students, faculty, staff, and guests. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in janitorial services, with a strong background in personnel management, scheduling, supplies purchasing and quality control. Key Responsibilities Staff Management: Train, and supervise janitorial team members, ensuring adequate staffing levels on all shifts. Conduct performance reviews using our HRIS system, address disciplinary issues, review and approve electronic timesheets, and foster a positive work environment. Scheduling and Coordination: Develop and manage year-round cleaning schedules in our task management system for routine and deep-cleaning tasks across all assigned locations. Coordinate shifts and ensure coverage to meet daily operational needs. Quality Control: Regularly inspect facilities to ensure high cleanliness and safety standards are maintained. Address and resolve any issues or complaints promptly. Inventory Management: Oversee supply ordering via phone or online, inventory control, and cost management. Ensure that all cleaning equipment and supplies are stocked and readily available. Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all team members follow proper safety protocols, employee policies, and regulatory standards. Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and other safety guidelines. Janitorial Services: Works daily along with the crew on all tasks, to include sharing best practices, training and inspecting all areas. Fill in as needed when janitorial staff are absent. Work Schedule: Works a flexible schedule to provide oversight to both the day and evening shifts. Operational Efficiency: Continuously evaluate and improve cleaning processes and operational workflows to increase efficiency and maintain a high standard of service. Required Qualifications Proficiency in both English and Spanish, written and verbal. Ability to send emails and enter data into task management software in English or Spanish. 5+ years of experience in janitorial services, with at least 2 years in a primary supervisory role. Strong understanding of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a strong attention to detail. Proficiency in using a CMMS system for task management. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on team building and customer service. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices in workplace safety. Physically capable of performing all janitorial duties, including the ability to move and lift 50 pounds. Preferred Skills Certification in janitorial management or building services. Experience supervising janitorial services for large facilities or multiple locations.
