Employee Relations Specialist - The Pittsburgh Paints Company

As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will partner across the organization to make meaningful contributions to our work environment and employee experience. Employee Relations priorities focus on counseling, dispute resolution, HR investigations and fact finding, policy administration, and use of data trends and analytics to improve workplaces.

You will serve as the employee relations subject matter expert for our US and Canadian facilities and partner with key stakeholders to implement key initiatives that are aligned to the broader organizational strategy.

As part of the Employee Relations Center of Expertise (COE), you will work as a trusted advisor to promote a positive employee experience. Key to success in this role will be the ability to discerns critical employee relations trends or gaps and to use data analytics to improve the employee experience. The Employee Relations Specialist will provide expert policy counseling, partner closely with corporate and field employees, leaders, Corporate Compliance and Legal. The role articulates issues to the business in the form of findings and conclusions so that long-term solutions can be developed and implemented.

You will report to the Senior HRBP and work a hybrid schedule in Cranberry Twp, PA.

Key Responsibilities
*Proactively counsel employees and people leaders to harmonize employee relations while building and maintaining our employer brand.
*Develop expertise in the areas of positive employee relations, conflict resolution, HR policy, HR compliance, and workplace investigations.
*Serve as an HR investigation subject matter expert; assist with competency development for the HR team to ensure quality investigations and documentation.
*Conduct efficient, timely, and high-quality employee relations investigations including: complaints initiated through the Ethics Helpline, complaints initiated through other sources that fall within the Code of Ethics, and other complex or sensitive investigations as needed.
*Provide consultative services to HR Business Partners assigned to investigate matters not covered by the Employee Relations Specialist role (e.g. local complaints, referred cases, etc.)
*Monitor overall caseload and appropriateness of formal investigation matters. Partner with employee relations leadership and compliance to flag concerns, monitor bottlenecks, and coach optimal performance.
*Conduct complex and sensitive investigations, while managing highly confidential HR information.
*Analyze employee relations metrics and trends to help develop proactive strategies, solutions, programs, and policies.
*Assist with stakeholder engagement in developing contemporaneous policies - developing and engaging with a network to help advise consistent and impactful policies in USCA and globally as needed.
*Advising on employment law, regulations, and standards that affect the business in consultation with legal.
*Provide support in HR compliance matters as needed. This may include internal ad hoc audits, solving for known compliance gaps or concerns.

Qualifications
*Bachelor's degree (preferably business, HR, or related field) or equivalent combination of education and experience
*5+ years of employee relations human resources experience required (conducting investigations, handling grievances, etc.)
*Working knowledge of federal, state/provincial, and local employment laws.
*Excellent problem solving, judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
