DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Are you a detail-oriented individual interested learning more about how museums receive, process and track historic artifacts? An internship with Collections Management will include an introduction to and experience with a collections management database, entering and correcting information in preparation for a future collections inventory. Work will also involve the cataloging of a small collection of artifacts; learning how to describe, number, photograph, link and save the information. Additionally, this experience includes a collections inventory and associated justification and reconciliation of the collection to permanent records. The internship will also provide an opportunity to learn about other associated registration tasks such as accession, deaccession, loaning artifacts in and out, image reproduction considerations, and risk management. - 10-week internship, May 2025 through August 2025, approximately 225 to 300 hours
- Work hours are flexible and will be finalized between the selected intern and their supervisor
- Salary: $17.00 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- All applicants must be enrolled at a college or university in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of their internship.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able and willing to report to Harrisburg, PA during the Summer Keystone Internship dates, which will be a 10-week period between May 12 and August 22, 2025.
- You must be majoring, minoring, or have a concentration in History, Public History, Museum Studies, or Library and Information Sciences.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Work, academic, or volunteer experience that has prepared you for this internship
- An understanding of how this internship will help you meet your academic and/or career goals
