DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will utilize established themes and lesson plans to facilitate special activities for park visitors through various environmental and outdoor recreation programs. These programs may cover a range of subjects, such as natural history, historical and cultural events, outdoor recreation, and resource management. Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining educational and programming equipment, as well as supporting program marketing and communications. The intern will also contribute to special events and provide assistance with the DCNR conservation volunteer program.

- Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2025 through 8/29/2025
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position may require evenings and weekends, not to exceed 37.5 hours a week.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- Current full-time enrollment in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors:
- Parks and Recreation
- Environmental Education
- Environmental Science/Studies
- An approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable.
- Freshman year completed
- Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
- Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university
Additional Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
