Job Description

    Monday - Friday in office
  • Pay Rate: $22.00 / hour

The Allied Universal corporate headquarters in Irvine, is currently seeking a Staffing Specialist that can help support recruiting on a national level. As an entry-level staffing specialist, you will be responsible for conducting structured interviews, screening candidates for hourly positions, and extending offers of employment. This role is fast-paced and focuses on efficiently evaluating potential candidates to meet staffing needs for our clients. You will utilize standardized interview guides, follow a structured process, and ensure each candidate has a positive experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structured interviews: Lead 12-18-minute standardized video interviews with potential candidates for hourly positions, ensuring a consistent, professional, and objective process.
  • Evaluate candidates: Assess candidate qualifications based on predefined criteria, including experience, availability, and functional fit, to determine if they meet client requirements.
  • Extend offers of employment: Immediately extend conditional job offers to qualified candidates after successful completion of the interview and screening process.
  • Provide excellent candidate experience: Ensure that all candidates are treated with respect and professionalism, offering clear communication about the steps of the employment process.
  • Collaborate with recruitment team: Work closely with recruitment supervisors and team members to meet hiring goals and provide feedback on the process.
  • Data entry and system updates: Accurately record interview outcomes, offers made, and candidate information in applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Adhere to performance metrics: Achieve daily and weekly performance targets related to the number of interviews conducted, offers made, and candidate satisfaction

A Typical Day (8-Hour Shift):

  1. First 30 minutes - Preparation:
  • Review daily hiring goals and candidate pipelines
  • Prepare interview materials and system logins
  1. Next 6-7 hours - Conducting Interviews:
  • Conduct a minimum # of structured interviews daily
  • Evaluate candidates, document interview results, and extend offers where applicable
  • Take brief breaks between interviews to reset and maintain focus
  1. Final 30-60 minutes - Administrative Duties:
  • Update candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Follow up on pending offers or next steps for candidates in the process
  • Communicate with supervisors on any challenges or updates for the day

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Experience: No prior recruiting experience necessary, but a minimum of 1 year customer service, call center, or sales experience strongly preferred
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to engage candidates effectively over the phone.
  • Time Management: Strong ability to manage time effectively and handle a high volume of interviews daily.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to accurately document candidate interactions and ensure data is entered into the system properly.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using digital tools and platforms, including applicant tracking systems (ATS) and phone systems.
