Job Description

Role:

Primary duties are to develop new programs, scripts, workflows, automations, and integrations for the credit union that are secure, reliable, and efficient. Responsible for updating code repositories, troubleshooting issues, regression testing, code deployment, and ongoing optimization. Supports business units by analyzing technical requirements, evaluating fulfillment options, making recommendations in alignment with corporate standards as well as industry best practices and completing the technical implementation. Assists in solving complex technical challenges through programming and development. Maintains a high level of responsiveness ensuring users and business units are supported in a timely fashion. Establishes and maintains technical subject matter expertise as dictated by the needs of the department and credit union.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Designs, develops, and implements software solutions. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business requirements and objectives.

Fulfills approved software and integration enhancement requests in accordance with established SLA's and procedures ensuring optimal functionality, efficiency, and reliability.

Develop and maintain custom scripts and applications to automate processes and workflows.

Remediates application specific technical issues submitted to the team and monitors the team ticket queue to ensure a timely response and adherence to established SLA's.

Documents support processes, technical designs, user guides, changes, and fix actions.

Develops and maintains effective and productive working relationships with user departments, senior managers, and vendors. Supports significant technical initiatives as required.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned in a secure and compliant manner.

Performance Measurements:

Develops new programs, scripts, workflows, automations, and integrations for the credit union that are secure, reliable, and efficient in a timeframe commensurate with established SLA's.

Meets department standards for support whenever technical issues occur. Provides management updates regarding key production impacting issues in a timely manner.

Ensures core system applications are being used in a reliable and secure manner.

Communicates impactful changes appropriately and ensures any modifications have been tested before they are put into production, working with training as needed to ensure users are prepared.

Interprets requirements into software design by defining and analyzing application problems, performance issues, setup options, and validation standards.

Communicates effectively with partners at all levels to understand supported functions and business needs. Translates complex technical concepts into common language for non-technicians and creates comprehensive but easy to understand software designs.

Meets deadlines for completion of all assigned tasks and provides useful input with respect to systems operation.

Coordinates with internal partners and vendors as needed to remediate issues and complete enhancements. Maintains appropriate relationships with outside vendors and suppliers.

Provides functional support services on-site as well as remote during normal business hours and on-call as dictated by the needs of the department.

Continually improves skill set by researching new systems, technology, techniques, and best practices. Shares knowledge and experience with other team members.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Three to five years as a Developer or equivalent experience. One year of experience developing with one or more financial industry relevant technologies such as Symitar, Q2 SDK, Opcon, RPA, HTML, SQL, Java, Java Script, Python, and middleware. Knowledge of Credit Union operations and technology stack preferred. Proven experience may be acceptable in lieu of listed experience.

Education: (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree). A degree and formal programming certification is preferred. Proven experience may be acceptable in lieu of listed education.

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Leading, motivating, influencing, and training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and sell ideas or services to others. The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members is a must.

Other Skills: Exceptional customer service skills. Demonstrated strong analytical, logic based thought processing, and problem-solving skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work and travel independently.

Physical Requirements: This role requires sitting at a computer viewing a digital display and typing for most of the day.

Work Environment: The position offers the opportunity to work either in-office in our Pensacola, FL, market or remotely, allowing for a flexible work arrangement. As needed, the role may need to report in-office for meetings, vendor visits, or other collaboration needs. The position may be converted to fully in-office if remote work performance deteriorates or through a business decision. This role necessitates active involvement in conference calls and meetings with other Credit Union team members and vendors. This requirement underscores the importance of strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team, both in-office and remotely.

The role operates primarily in an office setting, both remotely and in-office, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones.

The normal expected work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional after-hours work or travel may be required to meet project deadlines or attend conferences, seminars, or client meetings. Must adhere to safety rules and regulations while in-office.
