DEP Intern - Central Office, Bureau of Clean Water (College)

In this role, you will assist the planning and execution of thorough waterbody surveys required for the monitoring and evaluation of the Commonwealth's surface waters, including areas impacted by oil and gas exploration. Additionally, you will be responsible for entering the collected data into the Aquarius software to ensure accurate record-keeping and analysis. You will also assist in maintaining water quality monitoring equipment.

Your contributions will be essential in maintaining the integrity of water quality assessments and facilitating informed decision-making regarding environmental management.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2025 through 8/29/2025
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time on a schedule that aligns with the supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

QUALIFICATIONS
Internship Requirements:

• Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors:
  • Fisheries
  • Biology
  • Hydrology

Additional Requirements:

• This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
