Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Coordinator.The Research Coordinator will accelerate and facilitate the research endeavors of the Environmental Pediatrics Division of the NYU School of Medicine. Specifically, this candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator to collaborate on several projects that will support research into the effects of early-life environmental exposures on children's health. Under the new NIH-funded national study, Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO), we are following infants, young children, and their mothers to determine associations between environmental factors and conditions such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.

Job Responsibilities:

* Supervise the performance of investigational sites for the study which includes screening potential patients/subjects for eligibility to the study by providing basic explanation of the study, educating them about the study including the possiblerisks/benefits, procedural details and significance of the study and schedule the initial visits. This includes researching and gathering information from the medical record and/or physician referral.
* Interviewing study subjects, answers study related questions posed via e-mail or phone calls from potential participants and/or the public, maintains information regarding interested study participants and subjects who decline to participate using specialized software.
* Manage the development and maintenance of study documents. Manage the preparation of clinical protocols, amendments, informed consent forms, study guides, case report forms, and any other clinical research related documents.
* Maintain all databases and conduct routine maintenance as needed to ensure data integrity.
* Administers electronic health information questionnaires to consented study participants, responsible for storage, back up and transfer of data from these questionnaires to a central database. Responsible for accuracy of data entry from paper forms and storage of these forms. Train and monitor study sites in correct collection, processing and shipping of bio specimens to central repository.
* Manage the preparation of study progress reports and present information on a weekly basis to the PI and research staff.
* Supervise the coordination of weekly staff schedules and supervise study research staff.
* Supervises production of patient education material, research newsletters, development of web content and online project communication.
* Manage the submission of necessary documents required by the NYU Institutional Board (IRB) Secures accurate signatures and forwards documents and/or forms to appropriate destination. Ensures the accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA.

*Assists with the editing and preparation of manuscripts. Assists with duties related to the production of academic journals.
* Accomplishes department objectives by supervising staff; accomplishes staff job results by coaching and counseling employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
* Manages PeopleSoft procurement for all study and office supplies.
* Evening and weekend hours and some travel required.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Science or health-related field plus at least 2 years experience in clinical research.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's of Public Health or equivalent degree. Clinical Research Certification (ARCP or SOCRA) is preferred. Prior experience working with Research Protocols, recruitment and follow-up of research participants, and data collection. Knowledge/experience with statistical analysis and statistical softwares (SPSS, STATA) preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Phlebotomy skills is preferred. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $71,252.82 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
