Title: PEN (Parent Education Network) Production Support Staff Updated: May 2022

Duties and Responsibilities

(These duties and responsibilities are judged to be "essential functions" in terms of the Americans With Disabilities Act or ADA)




  • Maintain supply area with printing paper, cardstock, construction paper, labels, and all other components, as directed
  • Collect, count, and bag small objects as directed/required for activity
  • Operate office machines for activity/kit production, including photocopiers, scanners, facsimile machines, duplicators, binding machine, die cut system, laminator, and paper drill punch
  • Work cooperatively with other PEN employees for peak efficiency and productivity
  • Work with building principals to facilitate and promote parent involvement in student support activities, as needed/directed
  • Work cooperatively with parents in an instructional setting
  • Reports directly to the Coordinator of Community Outreach & PEN for supervision, work assignments, and scheduling
  • Report to Director of State and Federal Grants for direction per guidelines for Section 118 (Parent Involvement and Education) of the Title I grant

Education:

This position requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent.

Overview:



  • "At-Will" position; Grant funded
  • 500 maximum annual hours, not to exceed 40 hours per week
  • Varied schedule regarding days/hours
  • $12.73/hr


Experience:



  • Experience working with parents in instructional settings. preferred


Knowledge:



  • Knowledge of, and fluency with, the structure and content of the English language (written and spoken), including the proper use, meaning, and spelling of words, and the rules of composition and grammar, required
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, copiers (computer and high-speed), duplicators, binding machine, die cut system, laminator, and paper drill punch, preferred


Abilities:



  • Multi-tasking, creating and maintaining organization of materials and supplies, meet deadlines, work in a fast-paced work environment, required.
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods at a time; ability to walk upstairs without assistance; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with arms and hands to locate and obtain materials required for activity completion; occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds of materials at a time, required.
  • Successfully use senses (hearing, seeing, touching, smelling) to complete duties/tasks for activity completion, required.
  • Be available to work during all of the following time periods, as scheduled and required:

    1. Regular business hours
    2. Beyond regular business hours
    3. Weekends
    4. Holiday vacation periods
    5. Day to day "on call" as needed to meet deadlines
