Your Opportunity as the Lead Engineer, IS Database Services

You will be responsible for supporting our organization's ongoing transition to, and future support of, the next generation ERP/Finance platform in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). During that transition, supporting our existing on-prem enterprise Oracle EBS application/database stack will also be part of this role. You will engineer and architect highly available and scalable database solutions to maximize business competitiveness. You will also work collaboratively with team members to ensure overall database health (On-prem and Cloud) and compliance across our enterprise database footprint.

Location: Orrville, OH (Close proximity to Cleveland/Akron)

Work Arrangements: Hybrid ~30% in office presence

In this role you will:

ERP/Finance Platform Support

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) support for EPM, ERP, and IAM

  • Migration support from on-prem Oracle EBS to OCI EPM/ERP

  • Oracle Applications DBA for Financials (GL, Fixed Assets, AR, AP) and EAM, including performance management, debugging and diagnostics, workflows, and concurrent manager administration

Database Engineering & Support

  • Architect public/private/hybrid cloud/on-prem database solutions to meet business needs, following industry and company best practices

  • Lead evaluation and proof of concept (POC) initiatives for new technologies and platforms

  • Leverage "infrastructure as code" principles and automation of tasks for consistency, efficiency, and supportability and lead team towards best practices

  • Collaborate with team members on administration tasks such as backup and recovery, patching, upgrades, installation, configuration, monitoring, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and effective incident resolution

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures following department standards

  • Provide 24x7 production database support on a rotating basis

  • Build team capabilities through mentoring, training, and shared learning resources

  • Ensure technology stack and processes are optimized for availability and performance

  • Assist team members with physical database design, advanced tuning, automation, and other advanced concepts

  • Under minimal guidance, lead projects and resource management, while supporting Infrastructure solutions that meet business needs

Security, standards, continuity, and audit controls

  • Ensure database security frameworks are aligned with IS Corporate Security program/policies

  • Document database design and operational standards

  • Execute and enforce security/auditing policies and controls

  • Promote awareness of security best practices

  • Ensure data integrity and recoverability

  • Ensure business continuity through disaster recovery testing and documentation

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • 6+ years of Oracle data technologies experience

  • 3+ years of EBS Applications DBA

  • 3+ years of Oracle Cloud experience, including EPM/ERP/IAM

  • 1+ year of Cloud Database technologies experience with knowledge of at least one major database cloud provider (Azure, AWS, Oracle)

  • Experience with automation, scripting and orchestration tools and advanced tuning methods

  • Oracle database tuning and execution plan management

  • Knowledge of Cloud Active Directory authentication

  • Experience managing multi-tiered enterprise application architectures

  • Understanding of Intranet and Extranet Architecture and F5/Load Balancing concepts

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Capability to solve unique and complex problems through critical thinking

  • Strong mentoring and coaching ability

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Ability to build/maintain strong relationships and effectively partner with peers

  • Understands and adapts to new or changing situations, requirements, or priorities

  • Customer service mindset

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):

  • APEX administration & support experience

  • Vertex experience

  • WebLogic and Apache administration experience
