Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $53,500 - Midpoint: $66,900 (Salaried E8)

Department/Organization: 208101 - Dean's Office-CCHS

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; occasional nights and weekends.

Job Summary: The Accountant II prepares, reconciles, and audits budgets. Prepares financial reports, invoices, schedules, and/or statements. Completes journal entries. Reviews, analyzes, and approves expenditures. Determines fund balances. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, University policies, and procedures. Provides guidance and trains entry-level accountants.

Additional Department Summary: Performs all aspects of accounting and budgeting for University Medical Center (UMC) and other departments for the College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS) as assigned. Manages salary budget processes, departmental budget reports, and routine monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reconciliations and reports preparation. Manages all aspects of the state budget accounting process, including Banner and Concur review and reporting. Follows and enforces internal processes, control policies, and procedures as directed by college leadership in compliance with UA Academic Affairs and Financial and Operations. Assists with updating internal processes, control policies, and procedures as directed. Partners with other finance team members for the College to ensure integrity of financial reporting. Follows and enforces internal processes and controls as outlined in UA, CCHS, SHC, CHSF policies and procedures.

Partners with the Director of College Financial Affairs to support CCHS enterprise services, including collaboration with the Medical Billing and Compliance Office, Purchasing, Health IT and other departments to organize and coordinate the services that fall under the financial administration umbrella of the College. Performs research and provides financial data reporting to support academic, clinical, scholarship, and research enterprises. Ensures the integrity of data reporting systems, financial reporting systems, and accreditation reporting systems. Manages all aspects of accounting, data reporting, and cash management processes.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, business, or related financial field and two (2) years of accounting experience; OR Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Preferred Qualifications: CPA or completed education requirements preferred. Advanced expertise in data analytics, including experience with various database systems, mining, reporting, and developing dashboards.
