Primary Location: Home Based

Industry: Ultra-Pure Sulphuric Acid Supplier to Semiconductor Manufacturing

Reports to: Vice President of Manufacturing, UltraPure

Compensation: $165,000-$185,000+ Bonus + Benefits (salaried, exempt)

Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific salary range for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process. About this Role and About You

The Quality Director will lead the Quality function for a supplier of ultra-pure materials to the semiconductor manufacturing industry. This role is responsible for the overall quality systems, change management processes, laboratory operations, and metrology development. The Quality Director will ensure seamless alignment between customer requirements and internal manufacturing and technology development processes, overseeing a team of approximately 20-25 individuals, including 2-4 direct reports. This role offers the opportunity to lead quality operations in a critical industry, shaping innovation and driving excellence. Key Accountabilities:

1. Lead the implementation and maintenance of change control systems, ensuring all process changes are thoroughly reviewed, approved, and communicated.
2. Foster a proactive quality culture through robust training, clear communication, and alignment with organizational goals.
3. Consistently meeting or exceeding customer quality expectations, measured through audit results and customer satisfaction surveys.
4. Driving laboratory and metrology innovations to maintain industry leadership in ultra-pure chemical analysis.
5. Provide regular reports to senior management on quality performance, risks, and improvement opportunities

Qualifications

Education & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
* Minimum 10 years of quality management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
* Proven experience managing teams and leading quality systems in the semiconductor or ultra-pure chemical supplying semiconductor industries.
* Strong knowledge of ISO 9000 and AS9100 standards with demonstrated experience managing audits.

Skills & Competencies:
* Expertise in quality management systems, change control processes, and risk assessment methodologies.
* Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing quality requirements and standards.
* Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, leadership and organizational skills.
* Effective communication and customer relationship management capabilities.
* Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy:
* Develop and implement the company's quality strategy in alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
* Manage and mentor a team of quality professionals, including quality systems/process owners, laboratory managers, and metrology development leaders.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across the organization.

Quality Systems & Compliance:
* Lead the development, design, and oversee implementation of robust quality systems adhering to semiconductor industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
* Oversees internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with customer-specific and regulatory requirements.
* Monitor and improve quality metrics, driving actionable insights to enhance overall performance.

Change Management & Change Controls:
* Guarantee that robust change management systems are in place to evaluate, approve, and document process changes, ensuring minimal impact on product quality and consistency.
* Lead cross-functional reviews of proposed changes, addressing potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
* Act as the primary interface with customers for change notifications, ensuring transparency and alignment with customer requirements.
* Monitor adherence to change control protocols and conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance and effectiveness.

Laboratories & Metrology Development:
* Provide leadership and direction to the laboratory operations, ensuring accurate testing and analysis of ultra-pure materials.
* Drive advancements in metrology and analytical capabilities to meet evolving semiconductor industry standards.
* Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance laboratory precision and efficiency.

Customer Interface & Advocacy:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on quality matters, ensuring rapid and effective issue resolution.
* Represent the company during customer audits, quality reviews, and technical discussions, showcasing the organization's commitment to excellence.
* Advocate for customer needs within the manufacturing and technology development teams, translating requirements into actionable strategies.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives partnering closely with manufacturing and technology development teams to integrate quality considerations into production processes and new technology implementations.
* Lead root cause analysis and establish best practices and corrective action processes, ensuring alignment across teams to prevent the recurrence of issues.
