Among the key duties of the position are the following

  • Performs a range of duties, including technical and those related to the provision of access services.
  • Performs check-out and return of reserve and circulating items in the collection, stack maintenance responsibilities (print books & journals), and assisting library patrons.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • High school diploma.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic computer skills including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to take and follow work direction as well as to work independently in certain situations and apply good judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Good communication skills (oral and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to check and respond to emails.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a library clerical position or related work.

Equipment Utilized
Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing.
  • Must be able to lift boxes or print materials (books & journals) weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to push library materials on book trucks to shelving locations.
  • Library settings.
  • Moderate noise.

Special Conditions
  • Hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-12pm, Fridays 8am-11am.
