THE JOB:

As a Block 16 Cook at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, you will be responsible for setting the stage for an excellent guest experience by using your culinary techniques. You'll provide high-quality food to guests from all over the world.In your role, you will partner with front-of-house staff to create WOW memories the guests will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us.

THE STARTING RATE:$27.7826

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Maintain solid knowledge of food products and skillfully apply culinary techniques

• Identify and safely use kitchen equipment

• Restock kitchen supplies and food items required for service

• Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation

• Maintain solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation

• Assist kitchen leadership and staff in execution of service

• Maintain solid knowledge, understanding and preparation of base sauces, stocks and soups

• Work as a team to assist all guests needs and inquiries

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• At least one year cook experience in high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment

• Is comfortable in a restaurant kitchen and with the use of culinary tools, equipment, and various cooking techniques

• Takes pride in their work, provides a safe environment, and maintains health standards

• Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations

• Describes themselves as detail-oriented

• Looks forward to working with a team to provide positive experiences

• Enjoys helping others and likes to make a good impression

• Can handle multiple tasks at one time

• Experience working in a similar resort setting

• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
