The Senior Manager of Business Intelligence leads a team dedicated to developing, implementing, and maintaining Business Intelligence and Analytics solutions across diverse data and technology platforms to support strategic and operational goals with data-driven insights. This role collaborates closely with Business and IT leaders, Senior Analysts, and Architects to shape technology solutions and delivery plans, manage project teams to execute high-quality solutions within defined scope, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management
    Direct and lead development teams: Establish and maintain a high-performance team through effective training, performance management, and career development.
  • Lead efforts to continually improve Agile processes and methodologies: Facilitate Sprint Planning meetings, manage team capacity, and ensure team consensus on Sprint commitments.
  • Recognize and reward employee contributions and achievements: Foster a motivated and engaged staff by acknowledging their efforts and successes.
Business Intelligence and Analytics
  • Define reporting and analytical solutions: Capture requirements, identify key metrics, and translate them into actionable reports and dashboards.
  • Manage Business Intelligence and Analytics projects: Oversee projects from needs analysis through development, deployment, rollout, training, and transition to post-deployment support.
  • Continuously improve BI solutions and technology: Ensure solutions remain relevant and aligned with business processes, incorporating modern functionality and staying current on BI data visualization products like Power BI and Qlik.
Project and Resource Management
  • Collaborate with IT Management: Align on cross-team projects, requirements, and resource needs.
  • Facilitate success on programs/projects: Identify and manage risks, control expenditures within budget allocations, and coordinate internal and external resources.
  • Evaluate third-party software: Assess compatibility with business and operational needs and manage relationships with external service providers.


Qualifications

Education and Professional Background
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields: Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience (required).
  • Extensive IT experience: Minimum of (9) nine years in relevant Information Technology roles, including managing multiple teams (required).
  • Leadership in data solutions: At least (5) five years of experience leading initiatives and teams focused on data solutions, analytics, and data visualization (required).
Technical Expertise and Methodologies
  • Industry-standard concepts and methodologies: Expertise in software development life-cycle methodologies and managing the Power BI technology platform (required).
  • Agile SDLC methodologies: Preferred experience with Agile Software Development Life Cycle methodologies (required).
  • Regulatory guidelines: Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley, GLBA, FERPA, HIPAA, and other regulatory guidelines (preferred).
Skills and Competencies
  • Interpersonal and communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to connect with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Project delivery and negotiation: Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Risk management and multitasking: Ability to identify and gauge risks associated with programs or projects and manage multiple business functional projects simultaneously.
  • Team leadership and development: Ability to guide, coach, and mentor teams, with strong skills in hiring, team building, and organizational development.
