Job Overview:

Our Compression Systems and Services Customer Center is hiring an Account Manager to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and service activity for plant air centrifugal (PAC) equipment in a specific territory in South Texas. This position involves quoting, strategizing, prospecting, and developing relationships to achieve revenue targets, maximize profits, increase market share, and maintain customer loyalty. The role is a unique blend of supporting a major distributor and selling directly to customers.

Responsibilities:


  • Generate Revenue: Drive sales of equipment, service contracts, and offerings within the defined geographic territory. Develop existing customer relationships and secure new accounts to expand IR presence. Design compressed air solutions to meet industrial customer needs. Products include compressed air equipment, accessories, turnkey installations, service contracts, parts, service, rental equipment, and energy audits. Stay updated on product knowledge, industry standards, and training. Execute strategies for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. Meet or exceed all assigned sales targets.
  • Develop People Capabilities: Provide selling skills and product/service training for dealer sales personnel as needed. Partner with the services team to anticipate and meet customer needs.
  • Manage Cash: Ensure all orders are accurate and supported by correct documentation. Resolve customer disputes and manage costs associated with selling efforts, including travel and entertainment.
  • Ensure Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety rules during field visits and within the customer center.
  • Earn Customer Loyalty: Collaborate cross-functionally with service teams to troubleshoot customer issues or offer unique solutions.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate and updated records in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database, including customer interactions, assets, agreements, contacts, and opportunities. Provide feedback on market conditions and track sales pipeline and daily reporting.


Requirements:


  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, business, or a related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience in an industrial sales business setting.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce preferred.

  • Tech-savvy; proficiency with Salesforce is preferred.
  • Demonstrated business and sales acumen, including account prospecting, value selling, and navigating customer organizations effectively.
  • Exceptional prioritization and time management skills.


Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:


  • Regional travel to customer sites within the assigned geographic territory is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations, including but not limited to DUI (in the past 5 years), hit-and-run incidents, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, or multiple minor infractions within the last 3 years.
