The Airborne Systems Business Area at Leidos currently has an opening for an Aircraft Maintenance Manager to work in our Manassas, VA office. THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities) Aircraft Maintenance Oversight -Manage and oversee all maintenance activities for designated to ensure airworthiness and compliance with FAA regulations. -Develop and implement maintenance schedules, inspections, and repair plans aligned with operational needs. Regulatory Compliance -Ensure adherence to FAA regulations, particularly under Parts 91 and 145, and compliance with FBI-designated aircraft operational requirements. -Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities in accordance with regulatory standards. Leadership and Supervision -Supervise a team of maintenance technicians and inspectors, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. -Serve as the primary authority for airworthiness decisions, leveraging Inspection Authorization certification. Safety Management -Promote and enforce safety standards across all maintenance activities, ensuring alignment with the FBI's safety protocols and procedures. -Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions as needed to mitigate operational hazards. Maintenance Program Development -Design and refine maintenance programs to enhance aircraft reliability, minimize downtime, and optimize operational efficiency. -Ensure all maintenance programs are updated and reflect the latest FAA and manufacturer recommendations. Coordination and Communication -Collaborate with FBI operational teams, pilots, and other stakeholders to align maintenance activities with mission requirements. -Act as the primary point of contact for maintenance-related inquiries and audits. Inventory and Resource Management -Oversee inventory control for tools, parts, and equipment, ensuring readiness for maintenance activities. -Coordinate with procurement teams to manage vendor relationships and acquire necessary supplies within budget constraints. Quality Assurance and Auditing -Conduct quality assurance audits to ensure maintenance standards meet FAA and contract requirements. -Partner with Quality Assurance teams to address findings and continuously improve maintenance operations. Emergency Response Readiness -Develop and execute maintenance contingency plans to address unexpected aircraft issues promptly and effectively. Reporting and Documentation -Provide regular reports on maintenance activities, resource utilization, and compliance status to FBI leadership and contract managers. -Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and readily available for FAA or FBI inspections.
