Are you a nursing student looking for hands-on experience in a pediatric patient care environment? Akron Children's invites you to join our 2025 Summer Nurse Technician Program, a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced registered nurses and gain invaluable skills while caring for pediatric patients. Program Overview: Our Nurse Technician Program is designed to provide nursing students with practical experience under the guidance of registered nurses. This program fosters immersion in Akron Children's culture and aims to inspire participants to pursue RN positions upon graduation. Unit Overview: The 7 Surgical and Subspecialty Unit cares for pediatric patients (ages 5 weeks to 26 years) with a wide variety of complex conditions. This includes post-operative care, transitional care, neurosurgery, spinal fusion, respiratory care, epilepsy monitoring and inpatient rehabilitation. The unit provides care for patients requiring total care and offers a great opportunity for nurses looking to gain experience in higher acuity situations. Summer Orientation Details
