Educational Assistant - Mill Valley Elementary School

Instructional:

- Teach specialized skill sets in small group and/or classroom settings;

- Assist students struggling with specific subjects and/or completing assignments;

- Collaborate with teaching staff on a daily basis to ensure students meet learning targets.

Student Safety:

- Supervise students in various settings to ensure students understand and follow the standards for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS);

- Monitor and observe the school environment for potential dangers to students including assisting in the lunchroom and at recess;

- Identify and react quickly to emergent situations;

- Attend CPR/First Aid class every two years to remain certified.

Technical Ability:

- Demonstrate proficiency with the Google "G Suite" for writing and designing information as needed;

- Prepare instructional materials such as copies, booklets and laminated learning tools for classroom support;

- Provide support in the office setting. This may include responding to emails, phone calls, visitors, health room support, retrieving students & processing materials.

Team Collaboration:

- Contribute regular feedback for process improvement and workflow scheduling. Seek out and attend training opportunities;

- Communicate effectively with staff, students and school visitors;

- Take initiative to problem solve and share solutions with the team;

- Exhibit a strong and professional work ethic with the ability to work in teams and independently;

- All other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent.

2. Red Cross and CPR certified or willing to take CPR/First Aid class.

3 Dependable work record.

4. Positive work attitude.

5. Ability to supervise and work effectively with students.

6. Ability to get along and communicate well with staff, students, and public.

7. Must be flexible and able to work independently.

8. Must exhibit excellent oral, written, and organizational skills.

9. Must demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and follow procedures.

10. Must maintain confidentiality.
