The Maintenance Technician Door Repair / Locksmith is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of locks and security systems. This role involves working with mechanical and electronic locks, keys, and access control systems to ensure the security and functionality of commercial and industrial properties.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Lock Installation and Repair: Install, repair, and replace locks on doors, windows, safes, cabinets, and other structures. This includes mechanical locks, electronic locks, keyless entry systems, and combination locks.
Key Cutting and Duplication: Cut or duplicate keys using specialized key cutting machines, ensuring accuracy and precision. This involves analyzing key types, patterns, and compatibility with different lock models.
Lock Rekeying and Master Key Systems: Rekey locks by changing the internal components to render existing keys inoperable. Create and implement master key systems for properties requiring multiple levels of access.
Emergency Lockout Assistance: Provide lockout services and respond to emergency situations, such as individuals locked out of their homes, vehicles, or businesses. Troubleshoot and utilize tools to gain entry without causing damage.
Key Management and Inventory: Maintain an organized inventory of keys, locks, and equipment. Keep records of key cutting, duplication, and distribution activities.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, providing assistance, explaining lock and security options, and offering guidance on maintenance and security best practices.
Compliance and Ethics: Adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards concerning locksmith services, including confidentiality and non-destructive entry techniques.
Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep abreast of industry advancements, security technology, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of vocational or technical training in locksmithing or related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a Locksmith, preferably in residential, commercial, or institutional settings.
Strong knowledge of various lock types, key systems, hardware, and security systems.
Proficiency in lock installation, repair, and maintenance techniques.

Ability to cut and duplicate keys accurately using specialized equipment.
Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Good understanding of locksmithing ethics, confidentiality, and safety practices.
