Bilingual HR Assistant

$18-$25/hr

JOB SUMMARY:

The Bilingual HR Assistant will provide support in most areas of human resources including recruiting, staffing, training, and HRIS management. The HR Assistant will focus efforts on recruitment and retention of Spanish speaking employees, while supporting other efforts of the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support in recruitment and hiring, including sourcing potential candidates, scheduling and assisting with interviews, performing candidate background checks, inputting data into HRIS, maintaining HR electronic files and reports, and assisting employees with completion of new hire electronic paperwork, onboarding, and related training
  • Establish relationships with community partners for recruitment and training resources
  • Assist in the maintenance of forms, documents, and policies
  • Answer and/or refer employee questions about policies or procedures
  • Assist in personnel matters as requested
  • Generate documentation and reports as needed
  • Assist in company events
  • Contribute to employee newsletter
  • Complete other duties/tasks as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree preferred
  • One to three years general office/clerical experience required, specific experience in Human Resources highly preferred
  • Highly proficient in full MS Office Suite, internet, and general computer usage. Experience with ADP Workforce now highly preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid state drivers license

  • Fluent in Spanish and English required - reading, speaking, and writing
  • Ability to travel throughout the Goodwill of the Chesapeake territory
  • Proficiency with PC keyboard and data entry
  • Ability to communicate on the telephone
  • Ability to write, read, speak and hear
  • Ability to use computer and software
  • Ability to complete tasks with numerous interruptions

  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to learn new tasks and accepts new responsibilities
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Light

Lifting up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds. May be required to regularly stand for extended periods of time, walk, reach with hands/arms with full range of motion, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, push or pull. Regularly required to talk and hear. Frequently required to use hands and fingers to hold, handle and feel objects, knobs, keys and/or buttons.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Limited

General office environment where the employee is infrequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles or outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually quite.
