Who We Are

We are Tennis! The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the leader in promoting and developing the sport's growth on every level in the United States, from local communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open.

The Role

This is an 8-week program from June 10th through August 13th.

Working hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST

Hybrid schedule: Must be capable to work on-site 2-3 days per week at the Los Angeles Office

Hourly rate: $20.00

The USTA Foundation is the social impact arm of the USTA, focused on utilizing tennis and education to positively transform the lives of youth. The Programs and Services team plays a vital role in advancing the Foundation's mission by supporting over 250 Sports-Based Youth Development Organizations nationwide. These organizations utilize the power of tennis to foster academic and athletic growth in young people.

As an intern, you will gain valuable hands-on experience by assisting in the coordination and support of several career and college readiness programs. You will contribute to designing new programs aimed at engaging young people in their college and career journeys. Additionally, you will conduct research on emerging trends in youth development and education, assisting the team in shaping innovative initiatives that align with the Foundation's mission.

    Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of career and college readiness programs.
  • Conduct research on industry trends and best practices related to youth development, education, and career pathways.
  • Support the creation of materials and resources for various programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance program offerings.
  • Contribute ideas for new programs to engage young people in college and beyond.
  • Help manage communication and outreach efforts related to program updates.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-orientated and collaborative environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a pro-active approach to overcoming challenges
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and balance multiple priorities
  • Openness to feedback with a growth mindset and willingness to learn
  • Strong interest in youth development, education, sports-based programs, or community engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Research skills, including the ability to synthesize information and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • A passion for social impact and making a difference in the lives of youth.
  • Previous experience working with youth, education programs, or non-profit organizations is a plus, but not required.
