Responsible for the development and delivery of echocardiography & vascular lab specialty certification training programs. Works collaboratively with student trainees and team members to arrange instruction content and instructional time. Participates in the design & modification of on-line and in-person educational resources used in the development of student trainees. Serves as a connection between student trainees, educational partners, medical & administrative leadership, and diagnostic labs. Develops effective, collaborative relationships across departments & disciplines to broaden the students' learning experience. Supervises and coaches' trainees related to professional expectations, identifies deficiencies and opportunities for improvement, positioning them for success as UVA Health team members.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's Degree required, master's degree or Ph.D. preferred. Experience: 5 years' echocardiography or vascular sonography experience, preferably in an academic medical setting, performing complex echo and/or vascular studies, teaching and precepting students. License/Certification: Echocardiography or Vascular Lab Sonographer certification with either CCI RVS or RCS, ARDMS RVT or RDCS within 12 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling, driving (occasionally for outreach clinics); reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: Manipulation of ultrasound transducer. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood/body fluids disease.
