DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position assists in planning, constructing, and maintaining natural-surfaced recreation trails and other related recreational infrastructure, primarily supporting the implementation of professionally developed recreational plans for the trail systems in the Rothrock Forest District. It operates varied equipment typically used to construct, repair, and maintain back country trails and related front country infrastructure with a gross vehicle weight of 26,001 pounds or more, including truck and trailer combinations where the GVW of the trailer is 10,000 lbs. or more. It also regularly maintains heavy equipment, power tools, and\or hand tools; assists with manual work when not operating assigned equipment; and acts as a lead worker when assigned. Position also assists with resource management.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- This is a seasonal, full-time position without benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which the employee is placed on leave without pay.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A; or
- Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more: or
- Any equivalent combination of experience or training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position requires a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
