Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world. In the role of Groundwater Modeler/Hydrogeologist we'll count on you to:
- Work under more-senior modelers, using prescribed methods in various data analysis and modeling assignments as part of groundwater and contaminant fate and transport modeling projects.
- Evaluate groundwater movement, contaminant fate and transport, groundwater supplies, and land subsidence due to over withdrawal of groundwater
- Acquire, organize and analyze environmental data
- Set up and execute mathematical models
- Perform quality-control checks on model input and results
- Participate in project meetings, proposal preparation, report writing and presentations
- Develop statistical and graphical comparisons of model results and data
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in hydrogeology or environmental engineering (with a focus on groundwater modeling or hydrogeologic processes) preferred
- Experience conducting groundwater modeling, working with modeling programs like MODFLOW, MODPATH, MT3DMS and model processing software such as GMS or Groundwater Vistas required, however, would consider strong candidate with a directly relevant
- Masters with required experience in modeling programs and mathematical software with academic related experience in modeling
- Experience with mathematical software such as Python, MatLab and R
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including a thorough understanding of hydrogeological processes and principles
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Candidates who reside locally in the Philadelphia area are preferred
- Previous field experience collecting groundwater data preferred

- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering/science, oceanography or closely related field
