Stroke Program Manager Full-time/ Corona Regional Medical Center located in Corona, Ca

The Stroke Center program manager is responsible for the daily operational activities of the Stroke center. Operational responsibilitites include: Appropriate strategic planning, communication, collaboration, generating a smooth workflow for both staff and patients, effectively communicating standards and expectations to the multidisciplinary team, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all aspects of care/services delivered. The program manager is a strong leader who is responsible for ensuring quality metrics are met including outcomes measurement, patient safety, and patient experience metrics. Developing strong relationships with primary customers is a key responsibility and assuring that services are provided in a timely manner and according to standards is essential. Interacts in professional manner with all key stakeholders including radiologists, cardiologists, surgeons, nursing staff, EMS personnel and and other supportive team members. Assures HIPAA privacy, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards are met. Manages data and grows the service line with the goal of being recognized for outstanding performance. Performs other management functions such as performance improvement, timekeeping, and other duties as assigned.

The tradition of caring that culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical Center began in 1965, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Since that time the hospital has changed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community. Corona Community Hospital merged with Circle City Medical Center in 1992 and the resulting entity became Corona Regional Medical Center. The merged hospitals are now a 238-bed community hospital network comprised of a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. It is certified by The Joint Commission, employs more than 1,250 trained healthcare workers and has a medical staff of approximately 347 physicians representing more than 40 specialties

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

  • Must be able to manage patients of all acuities, stable, intermediate, and critical care.
  • Ability to instruct, supervise and evaluate the work performance of others.
  • Ability to make decisions and to adapt to change.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Ability to speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and in a manner that encourages teamwork.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to plan and organize work, read and maintain charts and patient orders, conduct research, and maintain and develop budgets.
  • Ability to use Medical/radiologic diagnostic/therapeutic equipment, standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier), and computer and software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, timekeeping, e-mail).

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Registered Nurse with at least three (3) years clinical experience;
  • 3-5 years acute hospital experience caring for patients of varied acuity levels in multiple settings.
  • Experience in working variety of settings including telemetry, stepdown, critical care, and/or emergency department.
  • Unit leadership as charge nurse or manager preferred.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare administration, or related field.
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field, preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Registered Nurse licensed to practice in California.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification by American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) Certification by American Heart Association.
  • Specialty Certification, preferred (CPHQ, CEN, CCRN, etc).
  • NIHSS
  • Stroke Coordinator Certification within 18 months.
