Responsibilities

Responsible for providing respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by physicians as per established standards and practices. Assists physicians in the treatment and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Mitigates problems that arise between Respiratory Therapy and other health care professionals. Responsible for making daily assignments among other Practitioners.

As a Traveler/Seasonal CRT/RRT, you will not be eligible for any additional add-on pay including but not limited to shift differential, critical pay, charge pay, certification pay, or any other additional differentials that may be implemented in the future. 2024 Traveler/Seasonal CRT/RRT program will begin thirteen weeks from your date of hire. The seasonal program can only be extended and approved by the CEO or COO of FDRMC.

Stipulations:
* May not have worked for any FDRMC facility for the past 6 months;
* Traveler/Seasonal CRT/RRT's will be required to float to other areas where they are deemed competent to work;
* Traveler/Seasonal CRT/RRT's will be required to be available to work at least four (4) full week-end shifts per month as needed by the hospital. Week-ends are defined as beginning on Friday at 7 p.m. and ending on Monday at 7 a.m.;
* Seasonal CRT/RRT's will be required to be available to work 1 holiday per quarter as assigned by the facility which may include Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day and Easter.
* The CRT/RRT Traveler/Seasonal status will expire thirteen (13) weeks from the date of this letter, at which time your "temporary" employment will expire.
Benefits:
As a Traveler/Seasonal CRT/RRT you are not eligible for paid time off or extended leave back accruals.

Employment at Will:
This agreement is not an employment contract; FDRMC is an at-will employer. Continued employment at will.


Qualifications

Licensure, Certification, Registration, etc.: Obtained certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), Current Texas Medical Board Respiratory Care Practitioner License and Current BLS/CPR certification. Obtain ACLS, PALS, and NRP within six months of hire.

Special Skills, Knowledge: Understands Respiratory Care that includes invasive and noninvasive methods of delivering therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the age of the patient served. Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures: maintain patient records; and select, assemble, check, and operate equipment. Knowledge in both Adult and Pediatric ventilator applications. At the request of the physician or in case of an emergency situation where a medical provider is unavailable, the Respiratory Therapist may maintain patient airway by use of alternate airway or intubation if necessary.

Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Completion of a traditional or non-traditional program for CRT eligibility. Passed the certification exam administered by National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
