Your Role on the Team

Reporting directly to the Associate Director, Advancement Communications, the Videographer, University Advancement and Alumni Relations creates and edits visual content that supports the division's storytelling and will be used on websites, news articles, university events, social media, and more.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $79,000- $81,000 (Annual).

Required:

  • Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of videography and visual storytelling, including the skill to capture and produce visually compelling content that aligns with objectives in an engaging, lively, and relevant way.
  • Thorough understanding of technical language and requirements of video production, including pre-production planning, on-set operations, and post-production workflows.
  • Thorough skills to create clear, engaging, and well-edited video content that aligns with the organization's message, maintains consistency with brand guidelines, and meets strategic communication goals.
  • Thorough technical skills in video production equipment and software, including camera operation, audio capture, lighting setup, and video editing tools for post-production, along with knowledge of video formats and publishing platforms.
  • Thorough interpersonal communication skills, essential for directing on-screen talent, collaborating with team members, and interacting with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop, as well as familiarity with media management systems and video production equipment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a creative team and liaise with clients and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high-quality content delivery.
  • Creativity and willingness to experiment with new ideas, trends and emerging technologies to produce innovative video content that captures audience attention and fulfills strategic objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • At least 3 years experience with Mac OS, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite showcasing proficient to expert level skills as evidenced by application materials. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design skills, particularly in print and digital media.
  • Experience managing digital asset management systems, asset library curation, and metadata management is preferred.

Preferred:

  • Thorough knowledge of content management systems and / or relevant web applications used for web production and organization-specific computer application programs.
  • Thorough understanding of the organization's processes, procedures, and applicable rules and regulations related to video production and digital media communications.
  • Thorough skills to develop and implement original ideas, effectively conceptualizing creative video projects and solving production challenges.
