You Are:

You are an experienced and dynamic Ethics & Compliance attorney with a passion forbuilding and administering best-in-class corporate compliance programs. Youare fluent in Mandarin Chinese and havea comprehensive understanding of the complexities of compliance within theAsia Pacific (APAC)region. Youpossesssound judgment and excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to build strong relationships with internal and external parties. Your pragmatic mindset helps you balance legal requirements with businessobjectives, ensuring effective and efficient compliance solutions. Your extensive experience includes conducting internal investigations, managing Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (ABAC) programs, and responding to governmental inquiries. You are a proactive leader, capable of managing a team and driving programmatic improvements to enhance the company's global ethics and compliance program.

WhatYou'llBe Doing:

  • Leadinga broad range of internal investigations related to potential violations of company policy and/or law in APAC.
  • Partneringcross-functionally to drive programmatic improvements to our global ethics and compliance program, including enhancements to policies, procedures, controls, and monitoring.
  • Drivingthe continued development of a best-in-class ABAC program to address risks arising under the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other global ABAC laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Leveragingdata and analytics for ABAC KPIs andKRIs, andadvisingon opportunities for programmatic enhancements.
  • Overseeingtargeted training to address key risks.
  • Monitoringchanges in compliance-related laws, regulations, and government enforcement initiatives.
  • Managingteam members in APAC.

  • Stayingahead of regulatory changes and advisingthe company onenhancementsto policies,procedures, and processes.

WhatYou'llNeed:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school, admission to a state bar, and active license to practice law.
  • Fluencyin English and Mandarin Chinese.
  • 10+ years of APAC legal compliance experience, with in-house experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and other global ABAC requirements and government expectations.
  • Experience conducting global internal investigations and responding to governmental inquiries.
  • Experience developing and managing ABAC programs, includingrefiningpolicies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Experience conducting electronic reviews using e-discovery platforms.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Willingness to travel to Synopsys' APAC offices periodically.
  • Ability to understand complex issues, assess risk, andprovideconcise legal advice.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders over multiple geographic locations.

You will join the Legal Department's growing Ethics & Compliance Team, reporting to the Deputy Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer. We work cross-functionallyto ensure that our policies and procedures are not only compliant but also support the company's strategic goals.
