JOB SUMMARY As an Installation QA/QC Specialist, you will serve as a key quality resource at the division level, supporting project managers and foremen to ensure the highest standards of installation quality. Your primary responsibilities will include acting as the division's quality expert, providing guidance and support to project managers and foremen, conducting regular site visits upon request to monitor and inspect ongoing installations, and performing detailed inspections of initial installations to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Additionally, you will develop and foster a culture of quality within installation crews through training, mentorship, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintaining accurate records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions, and reporting on quality metrics to senior management will also be essential aspects of your role. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to excellence in every aspect of installation quality.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Participates in BIM coordination of mechanical systems. Provides constructability feedback, virtual QAQC, and answers related questions
- Review contract drawings and shop drawings with the construction foreman throughout the planning phase to ensure our plan aligns with the installation strategy. Ensure the installation strategy complies with project requirements.
- Create comprehensive QA plans that outline quality standards, procedures, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and client requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality assessments using company technology solutions.
- Prepare and distribute QA/QC reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Work with project teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Inspect mechanical installations to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Provide guidance and support to installation teams to achieve high-quality workmanship.
- Provide training sessions for project managers, foremen, and installation teams on best practices for mechanical installations.
- Offer hands-on guidance and support during the installation process.
- Develop and share Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for mechanical installations.
- Ensure all team members are familiar with and adhere to these procedures.
- Participate in project Quality Risk Assessment meetings to provide input on quality-related issues.
- Help project managers and foremen identify potential quality risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Establish quality checkpoints at critical stages of the project to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct regular site visits to verify adherence to quality plans and standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing quality enhancements.
- Support project teams in building piping testing and fill and flush plans.
- Visit ongoing projects to check the quality of installation, and support the project field team to work through the means to resolve any quality issues identified.
- Work with Project Managers to align cost codes with constructability plan
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- At least fiveyears of sheet metal specific experience
- At least five years in the construction industry
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with prefabrication and batching

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment with frequent exposure to construction work sites
- Capable of using a ladder
- Limited exposure to physical risk
