Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Staff / Professional Engineer or Scientist to join our environmental sciences and engineering practice in our Minneapolis, MN office. This position will give you the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to contaminated site assessment & remediation, groundwater management, water treatment, and environmental due diligence for a diverse national private and public sector client base, while also learning and expanding the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Based on your current level of experience, you may be asked to take on task-level or project management responsibilities, along with business development, and staff mentoring tasks.
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • At times, fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, construction quality assurance and oversight, and remediation system O&M;
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
  • Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Aquifer testing and hydrogeologic data analyses;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, science, or a related field of study (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (desirable but not essential)
  • Professional registration (i.e. Engineer- or Geologist-in-Training, if applicable). (desirable)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 2 years (5+ preferred) of related experience, including observation of drilling and well installation, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and other field techniques, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation. (preferred)
  • Technical experience in geology, geotechnical, environmental, or related disciplines. (preferred)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Ability to conduct field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
