Position Summary The Director, Enterprise Architecture leads the development, implementation, and oversight of the global university's technology architecture strategy, ensuring that technology and services align with academic, administrative, and research objectives. Provide guidance in defining the enterprise architecture framework, governance processes, and technology roadmap to support the university's mission and goals. Collaborate with stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive technology transformation, system integrations, and improvements across the entire organization. Oversee the Architecture working group and governance programs ensuring architecture standards, policies, and guides are communicated, implemented, monitored, and effective. Ensure applications university-wide are documented, tracked, and maintained in accordance with standards. Support the Enterprise Information Management program to ensure the alignment of the data strategy to the university's capabilities, and processes using industry-recognized architectural models and roadmaps. Direct a team of enterprise architects. Qualifications Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education: Master's Degree Required Experience: 10+ years Information Technology leadership positions in large, complex, distributed organizations. Preferred Experience: 15+ years Information Technology leadership positions in large, complex, distributed organizations. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: * Experience with data modeling, data cleansing, data warehousing, ETL, data integration and distributed data architecture concepts, knowledge of agile and DevOps development methodology, understanding of solution design, development, and the data life cycle: data acquisition, data quality management, data governance, and metadata management. * Broad knowledge of information technology across the domains of infrastructure, applications, information, and security, with depth in at least one domain * Understanding of the practice of Enterprise Architecture, why it is important, and the role it plays in defining and supporting organizational strategy * Understanding of the data needs of large, complex, distributed organizations, and the role Enterprise Architecture plays in making it available, keeping it secure, and maintaining privacy * Ability to think broadly and strategically across multiple areas * Ability to demonstrate the value of strategic thinking and actions in an environment that often does not operate or think in this way * Ability to coalesce strategy into executable plans * Ability to turn plans into action, and to lead and manage the action to achieve desired results * Ability to lead a high performing team * Ability to lead through influence, in a distributed environment, with conflicting needs across areas * Ability to create meaningful relationships and build trust across areas, and at various levels of the organization * Understanding of highly collaborative and consensus-based organizations, and knowledge of the skills needed to navigate this type of environment Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: * Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture Frameworks * Familiarity with Data Privacy considerations and programs Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $175,000.00 to USD $215,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
