Function:

Develop, implement, and execute a production plan for assigned product lines from the creation of the build plan through invoicing of completed product that aligns with the monthly revenue plan.

Duties:




  1. Analyze and release production requirements to support revenue plan. Determine monthly frequency and quantities of top-level assemblies and sub-assemblies required to cost-effectively execute production plan.
  2. Develop and release product planning schedule per MRP demands. Prepare status sheets for a rolling (3) month period identifying all shop orders and purchase orders required to complete each status sheet per MRP requirements.
  3. Conduct weekly status review meetings with purchasing to ensure delivery of purchase orders aligns with the shop order demands on each status sheet for the products assigned.
  4. Communicate as required between status review meetings to ensure purchase orders remain aligned with shop orders and customer order demands.
  5. Reschedule shop order due dates and quantities to support changes in New Production, O&R, and/or spare demands assuring net supply/demand does not go negative.
  6. Responsible for printing shop order pick lists and work instructions in support of production schedule, assuring both are the latest revision.
  7. Communicate daily with shop supervision/management to ensure awareness of shop orders in WIP and the priority required to achieve on-time delivery of customer orders.
  8. Responsible for ensuring shop orders are closed when completed and that all material and labor costs are issued before closing.
  9. Responsible for release of FAI shop orders if part has not been produced for (2) years, or if a current valid FAI is not on file.
  10. Assure all projects and common supply and demands are in alignment.
  11. Communicate with Contracts when firm orders are entered and previous forecasts are not canceled.
  12. Monitor the aging of all shop orders and communicate with production supervision if orders age beyond (90) days.
  13. Working with purchasing, ensure parts in MRB are dispositioned in a timely manner and that an alternate source of supply is scheduled to replace parts that cannot be reworked.
  14. Release cycle count sheets to the stockroom on a daily/weekly basis in a quantity that supports the monthly/yearly cycle count plan per ABCD part designation.
  15. Complete reconciliation of cycle count variances daily and submit final results to the materials manager the first week of each fiscal month.
  16. Review, Approve, and Implement Engineering Change Orders that are assigned.
  17. Utilize written and oral communication to correct and implement shop orders or purchase order changes as required to stay on schedule.
  18. Other related duties as required.


Required Qualifications:

3 to 5 years experience in Production Planning encompassing total planning from the design phase through procurement, fabrication, sub and final assembly, test, pack, and shipping.

Experience in total product planning to include all components of a specific product defined by a (BOM) Bill of Material and close interface with procurement on all material which is supplied by outside vendors.

Experience in being able to schedule work including tasking and time phasing the production plan.

Experience with an ERP system such as IFS or equivalent software.

College degree or Apics Certification (CPIM) preferable.
