Job Overview

The Application Engineer Manager is responsible for the application engineering department, ensuring the support of customers and representatives in applying and selling product lines.

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday-Thursday are in office, Monday-Friday are eligible days to work from home.

A Day In The Life

  • Supervises the application engineering staff by ensuring that department is appropriately staffed; handle all personnel decisions pertaining to hiring, firing, time off, training and feedback; and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Ensures the filtering and/or response to all customer and representatives' inquiries.
  • Develop reports for senior management which track and measure engineering activities.
  • Leads the application engineering team to sell the proposed products and offer other product and enhancements/alternatives.
  • Develop procedures and techniques that striving for continual improvement and efficiencies for the application engineering department.
  • Interface with customers and suppliers to determine product requirements and resolve specification issues as needed.
  • Identifies, qualifies, and manages consultants and outside resources as well as additional internal personnel required for the successful execution of team's objectives.
  • Ensure the interface with engineering is seamless and promotes teamwork across all inter-company functions.
  • Facilitates, manages or drives to completion with the appropriate internal department's special product orders.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as requested.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Requires education of Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Requires 2+ years of relevant application and technical sales experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, installation manuals, routings and other manufacturing instructions.
  • Requires a working knowledge of ERP systems.


Some travel maybe required (up to 10%) as technical support for the field sales engineers and/or support other locations.
