Responsibilities

State Farm is seeking an experienced data scientist with a passion for mentoring others to serve as a technical lead of the Modeling & Analytics Graduate Network (MAGNet) internship program. The MAGNet program is a primary pipeline for data science talent at State Farm. The individual selected for this role will have the chance to expand both their technical & leadership skills by overseeing the day-to-day operation of the MAGNet program based in Athens, GA, in cooperation with The University of Georgia (UGA).

The key responsibilities of this individual are hiring & developing graduate students working as year-round, State Farm MAGNet interns. These interns are tasked with solving applied data science problems at State Farm. In addition, the MAGNet lead will work closely with the MAGNet programs at other locations to source & scope project work for the MAGNet interns and will serve as a liaison between State Farm's data science community & the sourcing graduate programs at the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech's Online Master's in Science in Analytics (OMSA).

Outside of the responsibilities of the MAGNet operation, the individual selected for this role will contribute to the development of AI/ML educational materials, intended for a variety of internal audiences. This is a full-time role with a hybrid working arrangement based out of Athens, GA.

Why Join Our Data Science Team?
