Overview
The Division of Policy, Planning and Intermodal Development (PPAID), Environmental Policy and Sustainability Program within the Agency of Transportation is seeking a high-performing, multi-tasking individual to launch and manage sustainability and innovation initiatives. There is an evolving and growing need for sustainability in transportation and innovation in the transportation industry is constant and often generates the need to establish, launch, implement and evaluate new ideas. Initiatives under the purview of this position have focused on accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles, automated vehicle testing and deployment, and alternative funding mechanisms. The focus areas evolve over time as new programs emerge from laws passed by the General Assembly and Governor, policies by Administration or Agency leadership, or as the result of federal laws and policies. Duties are performed in office and field settings. Incumbents should possess private means of transportation. Attendance at public meetings and hearings is required. Evening or weekend work may be required. Minimum Qualifications
Associate Degree AND five (5) years or more of management experience in one or more the following areas (a) development of program rules and policies; (b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans: (c) program evaluation; or (d) budget preparation OR highway maintenance, engineering, construction, planning or a combination thereof. OR High school diploma or equivalent AND seven (7) years or more of management experience in one or more the following areas (a) development of program rules and policies; (b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans: (c) program evaluation; or (d) budget preparation OR highway maintenance, engineering, construction, planning or a combination thereof. Special Requirements
Some positions may require registration as a Professional Engineer (PE). Total Compensation
