Ryerson is seeking a General Manager to lead and oversee the management and strategy of our Operations and Sales functions at our Houston service center.As General Manager, you are responsible for day-to-day management and operational responsibility for the facility which includes sales, production, warehouse employees, production supervisors, quality, shipping and logistics, maintenance, and administrative office staff.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all commercial and operational activities within the service center
  • Drive strong safety culture in conformance with company and industry standards
  • Drive the team to meet service and quality goals
  • Establish sales, profit, and operational goals to achieve EBITDA targets
  • Develop strategic and tactical plans to grow and support the service center product offering
  • Train, coach and develop team members
  • Build credibility and trust while providing an excellent customer experience
  • Understand the financial basics of the business as they relate to the profitability of the company

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3-5 years of successful leadership experience in a metals or metals distribution environment
  • GM experience and/or sales management experience with P&L responsibilities
  • Must also have experience in the development and execution of strategically defined sales programs that have shown profitable growth in different market applications
