Job Overview
The CGS Benefits Specialist I will serve as the primary point of contact for all employee benefit-related programs and associated regulatory compliance for assigned jobsites. Work Model: Hybrid
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions: Benefits Administration:
- Performs accurate and timely maintenance of employee benefit records to include transactions related to onboarding, offboarding, transfers, class and/or compensation changes, open enrollment, and other required data entry transactions in the benefit module of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and/or vendor portals.
- Monitors employee status changes for eligibility and benefit changes to ensure paycheck accuracy based on enrollment elections.
- Administrates a variety employee health and welfare plans, including medical, dental, vision and supplementary insurance options.
- Under the direction of the CGS Benefits Manager, may support the benefit renewal process in preparation for open enrollment activities.
Compliance
- As directed, conducts various weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly audits to reconcile benefit entries and to ensure accuracy of work.
- Reviews, processes, and responds to medical child support orders and agency questions.
- Supports benefits administration for new contract awards, contract renewals, or contract changes.
- Complies with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Department of Labor (DOL), Affordable Care Act (ACA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) regulation standards as it relates to benefits administration.
Customer Service
- Serves as point of contact for all employee benefits questions and issues for assigned jobsites.
- Develops and fosters positive working relationships with employees, corporate and jobsite human resources staff, payroll, third party administrators (TPA) and vendors.
- Proactively engages with assigned jobsites to ensure site human resources staff and employees are informed of benefit offerings and enrollment requirements through formal and informal trainings and presentations.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one (1) year of benefits-related human resources experience.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
