Overview

AmTrust's Product Compliance team is looking for a candidate who occupies an entry level insurance position or is a college graduate and has decided to pursue a career in the insurance industry.



Responsibilities

This is a training position for the role of Product Compliance Analyst. This role works with the company's product development specialists, actuaries, product executives, and others to assemble and present new products and product revisions to state regulators for their review and approval. The Trainee, Product Compliance Analyst will work to become a subject matter expert in insurance compliance generally and the particulars of one or more insurance products that he/she supports. The position comes with a great deal of mentorship.

The successful candidate will complete tasks of ascending complexity to learn, among other things, about the construction of an insurance product, the regulatory regimes that govern insurance, how to research insurance regulations, the procedures required of insurance companies to file their products with states for approval including the use of SERFF, all with an underlying focus on the commercial products that our team principally supports, namely: Commercial Auto, Businessowners, General Liability, and Commercial Property.

This is a hybrid position with three required days in office.



Qualifications

Requirements for consideration:

    Current (or recent insurance) experience with Property & Casualty products; or College graduate
  • Skilled with the use of Microsoft Office suite of products, in particular Word, Excel, SharePoint and CoPilot. (Experience with SmartSheet is a suitable stand-in for Excel.)
  • Excellent attention to detail; strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated team player with the proven ability to prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment, frequently under urgent deadlines
  • Builds strong relationships with fellow team members and collaborates effectively
  • Inquisitive and a critical thinker, who digs deeper into the data to find solutions.
  • Quick learner with a strong desire to take on additional responsibilities and stretch outside his/her comfort zone

The ideal candidate will also have the following:

  • Experience with ISO forms or rating methods.
  • Experience in a role where assessing multiple types or elements of information was needed in order to determine an action or make a recommendation.
