Description
There is an opening for a Production Planner for Ellwood National Forge (ENF) in Corry, PA, however, from time to time maybe assigned to the Warren/Irvine plants. This exempt salary position will report to the Production Planning Manager. This position will have the responsibility to maintain the master production schedule, control all releases of material in the shop for production and authorizes any changes in job priority across all applicable manufacturing departments. In turn generate a set plan that drives material requirements, capacity and load planning. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Working with the team members to establish customer order due dates based on a review of available capacity (Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales) within the required scheduling time frame.
- Ensure that due dates are sufficiently loaded to consume available engineering & manufacturing capacity while meeting the business's period shipment goals.
- Coordinate with operations and metallurgy to develop the material release schedule (i.e. Forge Schedule) to effectively utilize press capacity and raw materials to minimize inventory of raw materials.
- Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts based on booking and capacity
- Reviews the load profiles for all products to recognize any obvious errors, identify potential constraints and work with the leadership team to remove obstacles
- Manage WIP, inventory and product release schedule with demand, capacity and bookings.
- On an as needed basis reschedule work in process job orders based on production control and manufacturing feedback.
- Work closely with ENF and sister division staff to unblock known production obstacles.
- Audit all jobs to verify that schedules are either being met or that management is notified of potential or actual misses.
- Coordinate all advance material ordering through the requisition process to ensure that the raw material ordered is available and coordinates with work order generation.
- Participate with Sales and Engineering for new products introduction; includes try-out, R&D Projects, and other related shop floor activities.
- Use organization's ERP tool (Syteline) to organize production centers to maximize product flow
- Assist in creating rework or additional job operations as necessary into the organizations ERP System (Syteline).
- Evaluate production job performance and recommend updates accordingly.
- Performs other duties as deemed necessary
MINUMUM QUALIFICATONS:
- BS Business Administration or other relevant Degree Required or equivalent experience in a forging and machining environment.
- Minimum 5+ years of practical experience in applying, forecasting, developing and maintaining a master production schedule
- Must be fluent with computer software including Microsoft Office, Database Systems, MRP-Syteline preferred, etc.
- A high level of communication skills required with shop personnel, management, quality, vendors and custome
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Able to organize and prioritize an evolving workload.
