Follow specific instructions of supervisor to perform professional assignments requiring application of standard engineering principles and practices. Use computers and selected programs for such matters as preparing reports and conducting analyses. Typical duties/responsibilities for engineering may include, but are not limited to, the following: Monitor and evaluate overall health of assigned area(s), including (but not limited to) production flow, operator movement, equipment, and area layout. Drive continuous improvement using Lean methodologies. Monitor, evaluate, and improve production area efficiency. Attend and/or lead Kaizen events. Create and update Work Instructions and Standard Work for assigned area(s). Identify and complete projects related to capital expenditure (CAPEX) and/or cost-out. Act as a liaison for cross functional team activities to include production, ITM, maintenance, quality, and procurement. Act as a technical mentor within the assigned area of responsibility. Identify and solve problems balancing a sense of urgency and compliance with HSE and quality regulations. Perform assignments associated with various engineering activities. Monitor progress, comply with quality and schedule requirements, and maintain detailed logs and records. Use computer programs to perform various engineering operations, conduct analyses, and provide related data and information. Compile and assimilate data from various sources, conduct relatively routine operations and tests, prepare reports and develop graphics for presentations. Complexity of Tasks: Assignments require application of standard engineering concepts, familiarization with related computer programs, and general understanding of the group's operations in order to provide effective engineering support.
