Summary

Carolina Cat & SITECH Horizon is seeking a Connectivity Solutions Specialist for its N.C. operations. This position will report to the V.P. of Construction Technology and will be responsible for developing and executing our fleet performance strategy. In addition, this role will work across multiple company departments to drive dealer connectivity business and sales agendas, report on connectivity KPIs, and provide fleet management data solutions.

As part of the Carolina Cat's Construction Technology group, the Connectivity Solutions Specialist is part of a team of construction professionals that deliver scalable connected worksite data, safety solutions, and fleet management solutions to optimize and automate customer fleet operations to enable construction technology & machine sales. The Construction Technology group oversees the distribution of technology & fleet data solutions to facilitate customer solutions for machine automation, remote control, semi-autonomy, full autonomy solutions, and fleet management software. There are three departments within the Construction technology group: SITECH Horizon, SITECH Horizon Professional Services, and Carolina Cat Fleet Performance.

Essential Functions

  • Reporting to the Construction Technology Vice President.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, direction, and support to the construction professional services team for delivering fleet management and connectivity customer solutions.
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time, within estimate, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Work directly with clients and the dealer Sales team to develop new connected customers and contracts.
  • Negotiate service contracts with contractors specific to connected and fleet management solutions.
  • Responsible for facilitating and stewarding the ongoing business development. Be a self-starter, staying current on industry trends, new markets, and Caterpillar connectivity initiatives.
  • This individual must be a strategic, visionary thinker and integrator responsible for the deployment and execution of the division's connectivity solutions. Key responsibilities include facilitating & incorporating technology initiatives, participating in the annual refresh of the go-to-market strategy, tracking and monitoring dealer connectivity KPIs, bundling data solutions aligned to products, and leading technology integration events to integrate and align Performance services strategy across the enterprise.
  • This position has the decision-making ability to contribute, guide, and execute annual fleet performance business activities. In addition, this position involves working with different partners (including directors and dealer managers) across the company to develop and communicate the Performance Services Connectivity strategy.
  • This role requires the ability to deliver strategic direction, ensure alignment with Carolina Cat'scorporate strategy, and influence across the enterprise.
  • Monitor sales revenue and customer growth metrics.
  • Support and monitor annual budget.
  • Works with industry support organizations to develop ongoing competitive analysis and benchmarking.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business management or construction Management
  • At least five years of experience with a civil construction contractor, OEM dealer, or business equivalent is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive familiarity with Caterpillar and Trimble Technology products, Connectivity (IOT), construction project management, and Fleet Management
  • Strong strategic thought capability, experience in strategy development and deployment, and a record of solid execution.
  • The ability to run multidisciplinary programs, have excellent problem-solving skills and have team management capability.
  • The strength as a strategic thinker at an enterprise level, capable of delivering Go to Market customer growth strategy
  • Business and sales acumen, strong organization and planning skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
