This position involves two separate activities: (1) assistance in coordinating an annual 2-day conference held in September, and (2) assistance in transcribing and organizing data from ongoing projects in the lab, for example a treatment program for mild aphasia.

We are looking for someone who is has good organizational and computer skills and is familiar with phonetic transcription. Interest in learning more about aphasia and language disorders is a plus.

This is a part-time position, but can support up to 25 hours per week.

Essential functions:
Duties related to coordinating the Saffran Conference held in September each year.
*Assist Dr. Martin in contacting presenters and student scholars through all stages of conference preparation: documenting credentials, titles and objectives of talks,
*Coordinate travel plans and assisting with travel reimbursement.
*Coordinate ordering of conference materials (e.g., conference folders).
*Collaborate with catering and facilities management.

Duties related to other lab projects.
*Transcription of spoken language by people with and without aphasia (from tasks such as picture naming, word and sentence repetition and discourse.
*Data coding and organization into spreadsheets.
*General lab operations such as photocopying, preparing testing and treatment materials, and other lab duties as assigned.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
BA in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field, and a minimum of six months of relevant work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:
*Demonstrated knowledge of phonetic transcription
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills
*Strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to multi-task
*Experience with data organization
*Experience with ordering supplies
*Knowledge of MS Office programs such as; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
*Ability to organize and maintain travel arrangements

Preferred:
*Some experience in event planning
*Some experience with people who have aphasia is a plus
*Experience with RedCap data storage is a plus

This position requires a background check.
This is a grant funded position.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
