Description

UDR, Inc. is now hiring a Manager - Benefits to join our team at our corporate office in Highlands Ranch.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Manages the development, implementation and administration of benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures programs are equitable, meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Director - Total Rewards

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Leave Administrator

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Successfully partner with vendors, brokers and cross-functional team including Payroll, HRIS, HR, Legal, Procurement, IT and Finance/Accounting to ensure smooth operation of all benefits programs.

2. Develops benefits communications and counsel employees on benefits related issues.

3. Evaluates existing benefits programs against peer organizations and the labor market to determine competitiveness, trends, and developments.

4. Manages end-to-end responsibilities associated with Annual Benefit Renewal process and Associate Open Enrollment process. Collaborate with HRIS team to tailor and configure HCM system to accurately facilitate enrollment process.

5. Manage all employee leave programs and policies. Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with applicable legal requirements and regulations.

6. Manage retirement programs and ensure all financial, communication and administration responsibilities are accurate and thorough.

7. Manage wellness programs.

8. Supervise Benefits team to ensure ongoing successful engagement and individual development.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:



  • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Knowledge of general office practices, organizational policies, and procedures. Knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures. Ability to apply policies and procedures to solve everyday issues.
  • Strong benefits management skills required. Working knowledge of applicable federal/state statutes and regulations, required. Working knowledge of Associate Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), required. Must be a personable and seasoned professional with diverse experience in all facets of human resources.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and accuracy in preparing and entering information, and attention to detail. Thorough knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment. Ability to meet and deal effectively with associates and management.
  • Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities. Ability to exercise initiative, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills; team-building skills; analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and documents. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job. Ability to apply the principles and practices of work leadership and management.
  • Proven professional communications skills and outgoing personality. This position requires strong interpersonal skills to maintain contact and work effectively with all levels of management, employees, and outside parties. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management. Must have effective verbal and listening communication skills. Ability to quickly develop strong internal working relationships.
  • Must have extensive experience with computer skills including spreadsheet, word processing programs, and e-mail at a highly proficient level. Knowledge of computer systems and applications. Skill in composition, setting up and typing accurately and with reasonable speed, a variety of correspondence, reports, and other materials. Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.


TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Some bending, stooping, and stretching. Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Extensive data input and required ability to sit for long periods of time. Regular and consistent attendance on the job is an essential function.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment w/hybrid work schedule offered.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma or its equivalent required.

2. Related college degree and/or related human resources certification preferred.

3. Minimum of 7-9 years prior human resources/benefits with 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity.

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

5. HRIS systems experience preferred.

6. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license unless otherwise noted.

Salary Range:

* $105,000.00/yr. - $125,000.00/yr., depends on experience

Bonus Potential:

* Eligible for 15% annual bonus potential, based on personal and company performance
