About The Role

Under general supervision of the Consumer Loan Manager, conformance with established policies and procedures the Consumer Loan Processor will provide direct assistance to the lenders with loan portfolio administration. Loan administration will include, but is not limited to, providing information to callers, responding to correspondence, and providing clerical support. The Consumer Loan Processor will assist the Consumer Lenders with new loan applications by insurance verifications, collateral documentation, and other necessary documentation.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist branch employees with consumer loan applications and information collection from potential consumer borrowers.
  • Represent First Security Bank in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive "can-do" attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs. Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy.
  • Greet external customers by making eye contact, saying hello, introducing yourself and asking how you can be of assistance. Must exhibit professional phone and customer relation skills.
  • Promote bank services and cross sell bank products.
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding loan related questions and provide product information.
  • Assist lenders with data entry, loan coding, and HMDA data in the Loan Origination System (LOS).
  • Responsible for all clerical aspects of loan originations, but not limited to typing of loan related documents in Laser Pro, perform VIN searches on vehicles, perform searches from the Department of Defense for Military Lending status, pull credit reports from Credit Systems and flood from CoreLogic when needed.
  • Assist lenders with providing all necessary disclosures to the applicant(s). Ensure all disclosures, financial statements, income verification, cash flows, title insurance commitments, and appraisals are reviewed and maintained in the loan file prior to preparing loan closing documents.
  • Communicate with branch employees and coordinate loan closings with the applicants and branch employees, provide branch employees with proper closing instructions and ensure all loan documentation is received prior to loan closings.
  • Complete all required loan checklists and maintain consumer loan processor logs.
  • Work closely with the Loan Servicing Team (loan review and the boarding team) to efficiently close loans in a timely manner.
  • Work with Consumer Lenders and other bank departments, title companies, and motor vehicle departments at the state and county level to perfect our lien position and limit the bank's risk.
  • Assist with insurance and collateral/tracking exceptions, past due loans, and maturing loans.
  • Assist with all Not Originated Loans.
  • Organize, label documents/folders in the shared drive, and set up virtual loan files for scanning.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date
  • Assist with training other employees in related job duties.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required. Participate in all consumer loan meetings and understand the information provided and communicate the topics to other employees.
  • Keep management appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • Participate in Community Service and Bank sponsored activities that serve and support the mission and values of First Security Bank.

About You

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Two years of bank experience in related job field is desired

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exhibit a professional and friendly attitude; strong communication and interpersonal skills and anticipate, identify, and resolve problems to address customer questions and concerns and able to communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of consumer lending practices, credit structure, loan products and services.
  • Interpret bank policies and procedures and apply the rules and guidelines set by the bank. Able to learn all loan functions as required and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Understanding of both state and federal regulations governing lending practices, and industry banking compliance regulations and guidelines.
  • Proficiency with use of personal computers and associated software, including Word and Excel. Typing accuracy and speed of at least 50 words per minute.
  • Operate office machines such as photocopiers, scanners, and calculators used to perform job duties.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to perform repetitive work and handle multiple tasks moving quickly from one task to another without loss of accuracy or composure.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent grammatical, punctuation, spelling, and editing skills, and ability to find and correct errors.
  • Demonstrate ability to exercise sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Work independently and as an active team member by sharing and accepting suggestions and ideas.
  • Job requires operation of a motor vehicle. You must, as a condition of employment, maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to our insurer.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: The employee is constantly required to stand and walk. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be capable of up to 15% travel (e.g., 3.5 days/month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing.
