Wieland is hiring a Business Development Manager. The Business Development Mananger will be instrumental in executing the company's growth strategy by identifying and developing new accounts. This position will require a proactive "hunter" mindset to seek out opportunities and expand Wieland Concast's market share and other commercial targets. The ideal candidate will work closely with the VP of Commercial, Outside Territory Managers, Purchased Products Manager, and the Inside Sales team to drive sales from leads generated via the company's website, industry research, networking, etc. This role is located in the Cleveland, OH area and will be fully on-site.



Responsibilities

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

    Lead Generation and Sales Development: Actively seek new sales leads from various sources, including:
    • Company website inquiries
    • Social media platforms (LinkedIn, industry groups, etc.)
    • Industry trade show and conferences
    • Networking events and professional associations
    • Referrals from existing customer and industry contacts
    • Researching industry specific SIC codes for targeted outreach
    • Competitor analysis and market trend identification
    • Email marketing campaigns
    • Cold calling and outreach initiatives
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospects and existing clients to foster loyalty and drive ales growth.
  • Sales Strategy Implementation: Collaborate with the commercial team to execute sales strategies that align with company objectives and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape, providing insights to inform sales approaches.
  • Lead Management: Follow up on sales leads, nurturing relationships, and guiding prospects through the sales pipeline to closure.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and contracts with clients, ensuring favorable outcomes that align with company goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Outside Territory Managers and Inside Sales team to share insights and optimize lead conversion efforts.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on sales activities, market feedback, and performance metrics for the VP of Commercial.
  • Customer Engagement: Participate in industry events and trade shows to network with potential clients and represent the Wieland Concast Brand.
  • Travel: Routine travel for meetings with customers and prospects, industry events, etc., to support company sales initiatives.

Business Development Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Technical background preferred.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in business development or sales, ideally within the metals or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong hunter mentality with a demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, capable of engaging clients at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Use of CRM tools to log and communicate activities with prospects.
  • Ability to travel as required for client engagement and industry events.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
